OHSA The Occupational Health and Safety Act places duties on many different categories of individuals associated with workplaces, such as employers, constructors, supervisors, owners, suppliers, licensees, officers of a corporation and workers. Section 7, O.Reg 851 A Pre-Start Health & Safety Review is a written, technical report of a new (without PSR Exemption documentation), modified or existing apparatus structure, process, etc. that details the measures necessary to bring it into compliance with the Regulations of Industrial Establishments. Racks are one of seven named items which require the review by a Professional Engineer. You must keep a record to be maintained on site for reference and inspection
Bill C-45 The Government tabled Bill C-45 on June 12, 2003. If passed, it will amend the Criminal Code to modernize the law with respect to the criminal liability of corporations and the sentencing of corporations. The House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights held hearings into this subject in May 2002 and recommended that the Government table legislation. The Government Response set out the principles that would be enacted in the Criminal Code. The passage of Bill C-45 will transform these principles into law.
